A section of scaffolding has collapsed onto the street opposite the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead, north west London (7 March).

The scaffold structure had been installed next to a building on Pond Street. The large section, estimated to be around 200 sq. m, fell down during high winds. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has been informed.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 2.50pm and the Met Police closed roads in the surrounding the area. A spokesperson from London Ambulance Service said no injuries had yet been reported.

The scaffold contractor is reported to be ALB Scaffolding.
