CISRS calls for leniency on recently expired cards

The closure of CISRS training providers and the suspension of HS&E tests due to the COVID-19 pandemic has meant that operatives working on sites are currently unable to renew their cards.

CISRS are therefore calling on all employers and site managers to use discretion towards workers whose cards have expired since 1st February 2020.

CISRS have been issuing letters confirming an individual’s qualifications and asking for them to be allowed to work – but if the industry could adopt a universal position while the situation unfolds the need to keep sending letters could be avoided.

Renewals will be progressed as fast as possible by CISRS and NOCN staff working at home, and site workers will be expected to attend the training courses they need as soon as they become available.
